Seraphizm's Chows Down: Chocolat Gourmand

IMG_1787.jpg

All these races, and reports on the blog...you guys thought we forgot about our one true love right? Don't be silly mate! This is a special one for all my chocolate lovers (Kim and Rachel). Chocolate lovers who lick the pan of melted chocolate with your fingers yeah YOU!

This an easy recipe pour toi mon ami!

For a cake for 8 people you will need:

  • 300g of plain flour
  • 115g of cocoa powder
  • 460g of sugar
  • 10g of baking powder
  • 10g of bicarbonate soda
  • 3 eggs
  • 330ml of milk
  • 160g of vegetable oil
  • 10ml of vanilla extract
  • 330ml of boiling water

For the boom chocolate sauce you will need:

  • 200g of chocolate
  • 400g of double cream

Guess what? Mix everything together apart from the boiling water.

Mix well until it's homogenous. Then add the boiling water gradually little by little. Don't rush it.  The water needs to blend it well with the rest of the chocolate mix.

Bake it for 40 min at 165°.

Tip: I bake mine in muffin trays. I like the individual portions.

Hold on...don't go away the best is still to come.

When your cake is ready you need to prepare the Chocolate sauce.

An easy one again.

Heat up the cream. When it's hot, drop the chocolate and let it melt. Give it a little whisk.

Serving:

You can serve it like I do below.

My little muffin sized cakes fit into a glass. (yes I love clear Duralex glasses...yes the ones from school dinners haha).

If they are cold warm it up in the Microwave for a couple of seconds, put it in the glass, pour the hot chocolate cream on top and if you really want to really go in...just had some vanilla flavored whipped cream.

ENJOY, I know you will! xxx
